1. Guangdong Warehouse: Fast conversion, but high risk
Guangdong's high humidity and temperature accelerate the transformation of Pu'er tea, allowing it to develop aged aroma in just 3-5 years. However, the issue is that warehouses in Guangdong without proper temperature and humidity control are essentially "wet warehouses," which can easily turn tea into moldy products. Many so-called "aged teas" are actually produced in wet warehouses, emitting a moldy smell rather than the desired aged aroma.
2. Yunnan Warehouse: Dry and Stable, Slow Conversion
Yunnan's dry climate slows the transformation of tea in its warehouses, but results in cleaner tea. If you're not in a hurry to drink it and prefer a more stable transformation, Yunnan warehouses are a good choice. However, the downside is that even after 10 years, it may still retain a relatively fresh tea flavor.
3. Northern Warehouse: Too dry, almost no conversion
The north is too dry, and Pu'er tea hardly undergoes transformation there. After 10 years, it might still be similar to fresh tea. It suits collectors but not those seeking aged aroma.
