In the Pu'er tea circle, ancient tree tea is also a topic that many tea lovers cannot avoid. Ancient tree tea is resistant to brewing, ancient tree tea has high nutritional value, ancient tree tea is expensive, ancient tree pure material is good, ancient tree tea is sweet, etc.; today I have compiled some relevant knowledge about ancient tree tea for your reference only:

Will the smoother the serrations of the Pu'er tea leaves, the older the tree will be?
_DSC2107.JPG

This cannot be absolute. For example, compared with the same leaf, the second leaf with one bud and two leaves or the third leaf with one bud and three leaves, this is basically reliable. The older the Pu'er tea tree is, the more sparse and shallow the serrations on the edges of the leaves are.

If we consider the same leaf base and the same production area, this question is more reliable, or more accurate.

Does Pu’er ancient tree tea become more expensive as the tree gets older?

Generally speaking, the older the tree, the more expensive the tea will be. But this is not absolute. It depends on the quality of the tree tea, that is, how it tastes.

If the quality and taste of the tree is not very good, it tastes bland, the flavor is not good, and the aroma is not good, the value of the tea will not be great no matter how old the tree is.

Given the same quality and the same tree species, the older the tree, the more expensive the tea will be. We cannot compare this issue across tea types and regions. For example, the tea from Lao Banzhang's tea trees that are hundreds of years old must be much more expensive than those from other areas. Teas from other areas that are three hundred years old cannot compare to the tea from Lao Banzhang's hundred-year-old trees, right?

So, we have to compare this issue with the same variety.

We all know that pure Pu’er tea is made from pure ingredients. What exactly does it mean by pure ingredients?

There are three versions of pure Pu'er tea:

The first one - pure origin

Refers to tea produced in a single place. For example, Lao Banzhang, what we call Lao Banzhang pure ingredients means that this tea only has Lao Banzhang tea and no tea from other places is blended into it.

The second statement - pure ancient tree material

It means that this tea is made from pure ancient tree tea, without adding platform tea or ecological tea.

The third statement - pure ancient tree tea from a single origin

Take Lao Banzhang pure ancient tree tea as an example, that is to say, this tea is Pu'er tea made from Lao Banzhang's pure ancient tree tea.

It is said that Pu'er tea can withstand brewing. How long can good Pu'er tea be brewed?

Pu'er tea is said to be resistant to brewing. Generally, tea with good brewing resistance can be brewed for more than ten times, or even twenty times.

From two aspects: if it is a new tea or a tea that has only grown this year, it is considered very good if it can be brewed for more than ten times. What does it mean to soak for more than ten times? What are the identification criteria? It's just that the tea soup can't taste watery, and it stops there as soon as it becomes watery.

The brewing resistance of old tea is much higher. Some old tea can be brewed for more than 20 times without any watery smell. This is normal.

Our standard is that there should be no watery taste. No matter it is old tea or new tea, once the watery taste comes out, the tea will stop here.

Pu’er tea from ancient trees must be of better quality than Taiwan tea?

Pu'er tea from ancient trees is indeed better than Taiwan tea under normal circumstances, but there are special circumstances. Examples can be given. There are also quite a lot of ancient tree teas in Jinping County (Jinping is the county on the border between China and Vietnam), but the ancient tree tea in that place has too strong a flavor and a weak tea flavor. I personally think the quality of the ancient tree tea is average. Compared with the ecological tea from Yiwu District, or the ecological tea from Bangdong District, or the ecological tea from the Iceland production area, that is, the ecological tea from the Mengku production area, it is definitely not as good as these ecological teas.

Therefore, this issue cannot be looked at absolutely. To compare this issue, it must be compared with the production areas or the main Pu'er tea production areas. This can be said that Pu'er tea from ancient trees will be better.

Is there a big difference between Pu'er tea blended tea and pure ancient tree tea after being stored for many years?

There is a difference between blended tea and pure ancient tree tea.

When blending tea, it depends on how you blend it. If you blend it with ancient tree tea, the difference between it and pure ancient tree tea will not be very big after many years.

If it is blended with Taiwanese tea, the difference between it and pure ancient tree tea after 5 or 10 years will still be quite big. Pure ancient tree tea will change greatly after 5 or 10 years and become very smooth. Tea blended with artificial platform tea will still be more irritating after 5 years, and its smoothness will not be as good as that of ancient tree tea. In other words, the flavor we are talking about is not as attractive as ancient tree tea.
