How to store Pu'er tea at home
When storing tea at home, keep it away from the wall and the ground, ventilate it, avoid damp and odorous places, places without sunlight, and the temperature should not be too high. In places with small temperature differences, it does not need to be stored in the refrigerator.
Generally speaking, many families do not have professional equipment or independent tea storage space, so it is difficult to prevent moisture and odor. In fact, it is also very simple to store tea at home. There are two tips. You can store Pu'er tea well by choosing the one that suits you.
1. In the drier places in the north, Pu'er tea converts slowly, so it can be stored directly in an odor-free environment. The specific method is to separate raw tea and cooked tea, put them in different cartons, and then put the cartons on odor-free shelves. For tea lovers with small single cakes, just pack them in kraft paper bags and put them in a box. After about half a year, turn them out and let them breathe.
2. The humidity in the south is relatively high, and many foods will become moldy and deteriorate in a few days if they are not carefully stored. Therefore, the best way to store Pu'er tea is to seal it. The specific method is to buy this sealed moisture-proof bag. Just store a single cake of Pu'er tea inside to prevent moisture and odor. If it is a whole basket or a whole piece of Pu'er tea, you can wrap it in a waterproof plastic bag for storage. Just check it every three to five months.
Finally: For families without professional storage conditions, it is recommended to seal it directly in a moisture-proof bag, then buy a food-grade thick cardboard box to put it in, and place it in a ventilated and sun-proof place. Don't put it in the cosmetics room, and check it regularly.
