Guafeng Village, located in Yiwu Township in the northwest ofMengla County, Xishuangbanna, is a Yao ethnic settlement, situated 23.00 kilometers from Mahai Village Committee and 32.00 kilometers from the town. With an elevation of 1,203.00 meters, it experiences an average annual temperature of 17.00°C and receives 2,100.00 millimeters of annual rainfall. The residents have been cultivating tea for generations, giving rise to the saying "three households share one tea garden." Tea has become the primary livelihood for the villagers.

Guafeng Village is located on the border with Laos, surrounded by vast stretches of pristine forests, where ecological conservation is exceptionally well-maintained. Tea plants are mostly interspersed within these virgin forests, resulting in low yields but the finest quality. Due to its remote location, it remains largely undeveloped, making it a pristine sanctuary among Pu'er teas today.

For a long time, this place has been a secluded paradise, cut off from modern society and existing in a relatively primitive state of life. As a result, its ecological environment remains pristine, with lush vegetation. Tea plants coexist symbiotically with towering trees and epiphytic plants, producing tea leaves imbued with an untamed wild charm and an unparalleled quality. This is one of the reasons why Fengfengzhai tea has gained market acclaim in recent years.

The Yao people living here also have a tea-drinking tradition, and tea plays a vital role in their health. Currently, tea remains the primary economic source for the villagers in the village. The tea here is primarily wild-grown, cultivated by early Yao people during the slash-and-burn agricultural era. The farthest tea fields are about 10 kilometers from the village (very close to Laos), while some newly planted young tea trees can be found near the village.

The tea from Yiwu boasts a robust fragrance and a mellow, smooth taste, while Guofengzhai excels in its delicate and refined qualities, standing as a premium among Jiangnan teas. Savoring it slowly, one detects a naturally rich honeyed aroma intertwined with a sweet and mellow flavor. Beneath its smooth and silky texture lies a potent yet restrained tea essence, with bitterness subtly subdued. The lingering aftertaste resonates in the throat, soothing the heart and filling the body, evoking a sense of tranquility, fulfillment, and gentle satisfaction.

The uninitiated savor the aftertaste, while the connoisseurs appreciate the mountain's essence. The mystique of Guafengzhai lies in its ability to evoke the raw, vastness of primeval forests upon the first sip, alongside a subtle smoothness and delicacy. It leaves you feeling light, clear-minded, and wise. A fine tea requires but a single leaf; one brew is thought-provoking, another unforgettable. Tasted in the mouth, savored in the heart—so memorable that it lingers beyond sight!
