Many tea enthusiasts have experienced this: when drinking raw Pu'er tea, they feel ravenous, as if their stomach is empty and they've lost a layer of themselves. The common belief might be that Pu'er tea cuts through grease, removing some fat, which is why drinking it easily brings a sense of hunger. But is this really the case?
Complex components such as caffeine, theophylline, and theobromine can significantly stimulate gastric acid secretion and promote gastrointestinal motility. Increased gastric acid secretion (and accelerated gastrointestinal motility) aids in food digestion, creating a sensation of fat elimination or quicker hunger.

Moreover, drinking Pu'er tea accelerates bowel movements, especially with raw tea, allowing fat-soluble substances little time to be absorbed before being expelled to the colon. The colon primarily absorbs water and vitamins, preparing them for transit to the rectum.
Of course, the hunger sensation after drinking Pu'er tea is very beneficial to the body. Regular consumption of Pu'er tea not only helps burn fat and eliminate greasiness but also provides many beneficial substances that are good for the human body.
