Whether loose-leaf Pu'er tea can be stored for a long time has always been a hot topic among tea enthusiasts. Although loose-leaf tea can be stored, the method determines its quality.
Loose tea, due to its loose form and large surface area exposed to air, undergoes rapid aging in the short term, allowing quicker flavor development. However, prolonged storage may lead to excessive aroma volatilization, uneven oxidation, or even moisture damage.

If the plan is to store for more than three years, compressed tea is preferred; if loose tea is to be stored, strict control over sealing, moisture prevention, and environmental stability is required, along with regular inspections.
If you seek the "longer it ages, the more fragrant it becomes," the compressed tea series is highly recommended. Compressed tea slows oxidation through physical aggregation, facilitating microbial participation in post-fermentation to develop the "longer it ages, the more fragrant it becomes" characteristic. For those who prefer the fresh vibrancy of loose-leaf tea, it is advised to consume it within 2-3 years to enjoy its optimal flavor.
